Football Federation Cup winners’ Hawks FC have outlined intentions to participate in CAF’s Confederation Cup.

Hawks shoved aside Real De Banjul on post-game penalties to clinch their first FF Cup –the equivalent of an FA trophy – in ten many years.

Three months to the day they grabbed the gong on a frenzy June night at the Independence Stadium, the club have had many wondering whether or not they would be taking part in the Confederation Cup qualifiers.

However, the wait now seems over after the premier league side notified Gambia Football House of their intentions to represent the country in Africa’s second most prestigious club competition.

Registration with CAF will then follow after the formal modalities with the GFF.

Hawks last played in the competition in 2007 losing on a 1-0 aggregate to Nigeria’s Dolphins Port Harcourt.

The club has been recently bolstered by a sponsorship package they’ve signed with a company in Guinea-Bissau.
