Gambia premier League club Hawks is set to clarify the reports of a purported hoax involving the club, Foroyaa Sport can report.
The club on Tuesday announced it will be hosting the signing of a multi-million dalasi contract with Doyen Sports Investment (DSI) and invited media outlets from around the country for coverage of the
event.
But twenty-four hours prior to the scheduled date of the signing (Wednesday), unconfirmed reports emerged indicating a purported hoax in which the Gambian club was said to have been tricked by individuals
claiming to be representatives of DSI.
Contacted to shed light on the issue, a member of Hawks Football club
told Foroyaa Sport yesterday afternoon: ‘ We said we were going to
call-up a press conference about the signing but it is on hold for the
time being. We can’t say anything until may be after tomorrow. We have
something (say), may be we just clear some points. They (the board)
will come out with something.”
The club has been in talks with few individuals over the possible
brokering of a four-year sponsorship contract since November.]]>
