Instead, he was put in custody since Monday 2nd March 2015. The rainy season is fast approaching. The farmers should now be in the field. Why is Haruna detained without trial? What purpose is it serving? How is the detention serving agricultural development? Impunity in this case undermines the confidence of the farming community. No farmer should be detained without trial during the farming season. To do so is to display a lack of commitment to the goal of self sufficiency in agricultural production.]]>
