It seems Gambia international Hamza Barry’s clubless moments have come to a halt after appearing to rejoin Maccabi Netanya in Israel.
The playmaker had been a free agent since seeing out his loan spell with Hapoel Tel Aviv. The 21-year-old was recently tried by Netherlands top tier side Vitesse, also a feeder club to English Premier League outfit Chelsea.
Hamza got to play against the London club’s U-23s during his audition period and impressed enough but the gaffer thinks otherwise, opting to let go the Gambia international.
The ex-Gambia Ports Authority man has been linked with clubs in the Turkish second tier but none have volunteered to reach a deal with the player’s agent.
However it appears Barry’s unemployed moments are behind him after seemingly reuniting with Maccabi Netanya –his first club in Israel. The midfielder arrived at the club August 15th on a deal that will run until end of new season.
Barry won the league title, FA Trophy and Super Cup while with Valletta in Malta.
