Buba Drammeh commonly called Amanding, who is suspected to have shot death one Buba Jammeh of Gunjur in a communal land clash, has been arrested by the security forces on the 22nd February 2020.

On Saturday 16th March, 2019 there was a clash between elements of Gunjur and Berending resulting to injuries and death. The murder suspect has been at large all the while till his arrest. The deceased was laid to rest on 19 March, 2019 at the Gunjur Cemetery.

According to a police source, Buba Drammeh has been captured on Saturday night at a cultural festival in Berending and is in police custody.

Many people in Gunjur had earlier expressed their grievances to this reporter regarding the lack of arrest of Buba Drammeh, saying that they expected government to do justice as quick as possible.

Confirming the arrest of Buba Drammeh, The Gambia Police PRO ASP Lamin Njie told this medium that Buba Drammeh was indeed arrested and is helping the police with their investigation into the alleged killing of Buba Jammeh during the communal land dispute between some people of Gunjur and Berending in March 2019. ASP Njie thanked the general public on behalf of the Inspector General of Police for their assistance during the manhunt, and specifically thanked those who provided information leading to the arrest of the murder suspect.
