GRA STAFF ARRESTED, DETAINED AT NIA

By Mustapha Jallow Foroyaa has been informed by a family source that Mrs. Mama Harr Ceesay, a staff attached to the Income Tax Department of Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), has been arrested at her office on Friday, 10 July, and taken to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul.The source confirmed that she is still held at the NIA and that they have access to her, adding that the reasons for her arrest and subsequent detention are not yet known to them. Mrs. Ceesay’s detention without release has exceeded 72 hours and is in clear violation of Section 19 of the Second Republican Constitution of The Gambia. When this reporter visited her office, he was told at the reception that the senior officers were on a meeting and that Mrs. Ceesay was out of the country.
