The Regional Command of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) in the West Coast Region (WCR) has conducted a joint security patrol of the region with their counterparts from other security agencies like the Gambia Immigration Department (GID), State Intelligence Services (SIS), Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEA-G), and members of the Nigerian contingent of ECOMIG, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, the joint patrol aims to enhance the security and visibility of the region particularly with the areas of Kombo South, Gunjur Sanyang, and Jambanjelly, and other parts of the West Coast Region such as Dasilameh and Dimbaya.

During the exercise, members of the patrol teams interacted with community members and leaders and engaged them in discussions on their security concerns. The team also met with officers at border posts and police stations in the areas covered to strengthen collaboration and share intelligence on the ongoing security efforts.

In his concluding remarks, ASP Sisawo used the opportunity to remind the public that the operation was designed to maintain peace, deter criminal activities, and foster closer cooperation between security agencies and the public to safeguard communities.
