GPF appoints new spokesperson

The Gambia Police Force on Wednesday, 3 April, 2024 appointed Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sisawo as the new public relations officer.

Sisawo replaced Cadet ASP Binta Jatta, the first woman to be the spokesperson of Gambia Police Force. Binta has served in the post for two years.

The official handing over ceremony took place on Friday, 5 April 2024. Prior to his appointment, Sisawo was Deputy PRO.

He started his role as the spokesperson of the police on Monday, 8 2024.

Speaking to Foroyaa following his appointment, he said he is honoured to have been granted the opportunity to serve as the Public Relations Officer of The Gambia Police Force.

‘I am profoundly grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me by Inspector General of Police Mr. Seedy Mukhtar Touray and his esteemed leadership team.

‘I pledge to dedicate myself fully to serving the people of The Gambia with utmost integrity, commitment, and excellence,’ he said.

For his academic qualifications, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from The University of The Gambia.

He has a Certificate in Nursing (SEN), a Postgraduate degree in Clinical Research, and a Master of Science in Public Health Management.

He is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Journalism and Communications at the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication.
