Gambia is due to partake in the soon-to start Ecowas wrestling championship to be hosted by neighbouring Senegal.
A five-man wrestling team was this week unveiled by national team coach Seedy Chore setting the ground rolling for the country’s participation in the 7th edition of the regional wrestling showdown.Disclosure of the list of selected wrestlers prompted a wave of enthusiasm with pundits tipping Gambia for a potential trophy haul in the wake of the reinvention of the onetime fading traditional sport.
However new emerging details close to the squad circles suggest otherwise potentially dampening the positive air.
