Visiting Scottish Female outfit Glasgow Girls Football club over the weekend recovered from an early upset in their opening game to beat second division side Jeshwang 2-1.
Played in Brufut, it was the Scottish Girls’ first win in two outings. They lost their first friendly to deposed female league champions Red Scorpions 2-0. The game was allowed to stop every fifteen minutes to offer the visitors water breaks in the face of sweltering temperatures.
A part of their itinerary, the GFC squad had a watch on Kololi Monkey Park Sunday, on a day they were scheduled to take on Gambian female league champions Interior FC.
Earlier on, the Girls completed a day-long seminar on women football at the Goal Project in Yundum where they shared ideas with locals about the sport.
Brought to the Gambia by Adventure Kicks partnering the Gambia Football Federation, GFC are on a seven-day visit to the Gambia.
They are expected to hold coaching clinic for young female players from within Brufut before completing the schedule with an international friendly against the Gambia women national team this Tuesday at the SK East mini stadium.
