Gambia Football Federation’s one million worth league title winner 
would not be decided until the final day of the league after Gamtel lost to Banjul United.
Victory would have placed Gamtel on path to clinching the title after Real de Banjul lost 2-1 to Gambia Ports Authority earlier on Tuesday.
But Tapha Manneh’s charges blew away the chance presented to top the
standings succumbing 1-0 to Banjul United yesterday evening.
The telecom giants and defending champions Real are leveled on points
each on forty-one with the latter leading on goal difference, meaning
the winner of the league will only be known on final match of the
league.
Elsewhere, Bakau United have gotten relegated after they drew blank
with Serrekunda United yesterday. A win would have seen the
Bakau-based side’s chances of survival bolstered and given them the
moment to do the incredible on final league game day –to stay up in
the division.
But the stalemate means they will be playing football in the second
tier next season.
Interior, in another game, humbled Brikama United 1-0 while Hawks drew
one-all with Walidan.
