Ahead of the Christmas and New Year break, it was a smiling face celebration for the young lads from Bakau Kachically BK Milan
FC in GFF League Division Two after their famous win over Brufut United at a 3-1 thumping at the end of Match Day Seven.
Milan has had rough and gloomy beginning in League Two when they had an array of defeats and a slim number of goals less draw score lines. Their latest draw was in Week Six against Interior when they finished nil -nil at full time before whipping the much fancied Brufut United at a 3-1 thrashing all in their favor. The Bakau lads enjoyed the most part of the Christmas as beefed up in that hard earned but deserved victory worthy of celebration.
BK Milan now sits at eleventh position jointly with Bakau United although on an inferior goal difference but picks up 6 points in total before the brief Christmas and New Year recess.
Red Hawks are in pole position on 13 points but very closely chased by Fortune FC and Lions of Banjul both on 12 points and a difference of 1 goal separating the two sides. Wallidan is the only stand outside on 10 points after beating Bakau United 1 nil in their last fixture earning them a whopping frog jump to third place in the League Two standing.
Waa Banjul FC, Brufut United, Young Africans and Interior FC all share the 8 points tally and occupies 4th place while Kexx United are on 7 points. Misery continues for Banjul United occupying third from bottom and picking only 5 points so also is Sere Kunda East Bi. Blue Star maintains their garbage position at rock bottom on a solitary 1 point after their first draw to Fortune FC last week.
The League will resume on the 4th and 5th January, 2017 at the designated grounds.
Meanwhile in League One, Real De Banjul FC are the new leaders on 12 points after surpassing GAF and GPA who have had short spells at the summit. GPA was last week paired with Ivory Coast’s Sewe Sports FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary qualifiers scheduled for January, 2017. Brikama United who were FF Cup Champions in the Gambia have pulled out form the CAF contest due to budgetary constraints.
