The Gambia Democratic Congress is pleased to congratulate Adama Barrow and the team of coalition of political parties, for their 
resounding victory at the 2016 Presidential elections.
In the same vain GDC commends President Yaya Jammeh for gracefully accepting defeat. GDC also commends Alh Alieu Momar Njie and the IEC for their courage and for conducting a free and fair election making the Gambia a shining example in Africa.GDC would equally like to congratulate all opposition party militants for taking part in this peaceful change of government. GDC always believed change through the ballot was possible and was the best way to effect change.
Now that we’ve achieved the ultimate goal, it is time to start working together to rebuild our ailing democracy.
