Gambian international goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye has terminated his contract with his team SV Rödinghausen forthwith, the club disclosed on Wednesday. The Gambian keeper displayed a solid performance at last year’s AFCON in Cameroon where he helped the senior scorpions reach the quarterfinals in their maiden appearance.
“SV Rödinghausen will start training without Baboucarr Gaye. The 24-year-old keeper is moving to Bulgaria with immediate effect. Both sides agreed on an early termination of the contract, which had a valid period until the summer,” the club stated on its Facebook platform.
The club further stated on its website that “Gaye played for the Wiehenelf in one game each in the Westphalia Cup and for the U23s.”
“Babou approached us with the wish to change his sporting skills in winter. Since Leon Tigges is fit and resilient again, we have complied with his request and do not want to stand in the way of a change. We wish Babou all the best for his future,” says Alexander Müller, the club’s managing director and sports director.
