A Gambian striker will have to temporarily contend with being sidelined after undergoing surgery on his leg, 
Foroyaa Sport can confirm.
Bakary Njie went under the knife on Sunday in France. The procedure was carried out on the potential Gambia international to correct his knee ligament.
Following completion of the operation, concerned health personnel of the club will now reassess the striker’s situation and determine his length of lay-off.
Njie’s absence will create a void in Bulgarian club Cherno More’s attack who’ve been hugely dependent on the Mataro-born Gambian.
The 26-year-old sustained the abrasion during a league match and had to be hauled off the pitch before half-time.
Bakary’s wound will keep out of Gambia’s Cameroon qualifier next month after he’d initially looked on cause to make his scorpion debut.
Born to Gambian parents in Spain, the left-footed front-man is the first, in the current generation of Gambia footballers, to play in Spanish top tier. He climbed off the substitutes’ bench as a 10-minute new entrant for Espanyol against Valencia in 2012 after moving from Real Valladolid reserves’ team.
Njie scored 12 goals in the first season with Cherno More in 2014 a year after he bagged the same number of goals for Spanish second tier side Hospitalite.]]>
