The 20-year-old on loan from Real de Banjul got his hands on the award after being voted by the East African country’s journalists.

Sanneh’s rise to the fore followed his impressive ten-goal haul that helped save his club Nairobi City Stars from relegation.

The capital-based side had a near calamitous run in the league leading to the club’s almost demotion from the top tier.

The club amassed twenty-eight points losing fourteen of the thirty games they have played finishing two points above relegated KCB.

Sanneh was also up for August player of the month award.

Still, in the Kenyan premier League, Alagie Nyabally and Matarr Nyan, all on loan from RDB, and their side Tusker wrapped up the campaign on fifth position.
