The Gambia National U-20 side are back on training after Christmas recess at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum, the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) disclosed on its Facebook page.
Young Scorpions are in camp preparing for the forthcoming TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations which will kick off in Egypt on February 19th 2023. The Gambia U-20 team has been pitted against Tunisia, Benin and Zambia in Group C and they will begin their campaign against Tunisia before facing Zambia and Benin.
“The team welcomes back its Captain Alagie Saine following his return from Denmark on Training with AC Horsens,” GFF communication unit stated. “Saine is expected to be part of the team set up for their friendly game against TMT Academy scheduled for Friday 30th December 2022 at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum at 8am.”
Coach Abdoulie Bojang is committed to producing a strong and competitive squad ahead of the U20 AFCON finals, the federation said.
“There can be no room for complacency. We are not going to compromise on match fitness,” he remarked at today’s training.
