Gambia Football Federation is biting its fingers over losing top talent Joe Gomez to England.
The 20-year-old Liverpool centre-back is among a flurry of players summoned to the Three Lions’ squad for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
The former Charlton Academy versatile defender’s call-up by gaffer Southgate, followed his impressive showings for Premier League giants Liverpool.
Born in the UK to a Gambian father, Joe was still eligible to switch his allegiance to his father’s land but the England U-21 captain opted for his birth-place instead with prospect of featuring in the Euros and World Cup an influencing factor in his decision.
