Real De Banjul could play in front of Gambian fans against Liberia’s
BYC amid reports linking playing of the second-leg in Banjul, Foroyaa
Sport can report.
There’s dilemma over where to play the second-leg after Caf bannedBarrack Young Controllers from hosting games at home for fear of the spread of the ebola virus during the game.
Mali was initially identified as a neutral ground before the
leadership there turned down the Liberian Football Association’s
request at the eleventh hour without a reason.
However Caf has now intervened, in line with competition rules, to
find an amicable solution and are believed to have suggested Gambia to
host the second-leg.
Liberia’s coach Robert Lartey –who dropped three of his players
including his star striker for misconduct -was yesterday quoted
confidently naming Gambia as host of the second-leg this Saturday.
Any such arrangement would require confirmation from the Gambia
Football Federation who yesterday evening told Foroyaa Sport that they
are yet to be notified of such an engagement by CAF.
‘We have not heard from them and CAF hasn’t said a thing yet,’ a GFF
spokesperson told this publication.
Real de Banjul’s president Willy Abraham wasn’t available for comment
when reached yesterday at press time.]]>
