Gambia’s sporting fraternity is in mourning following the demise of
former national team tactician Lamin Sarr.
Sarr passed away yesterday after a brief illness, a family member told
this publication.
This untimely demise of Sarr, who was elected West Coast RegionCoaches Association president in 2013, has left Gambian football in
shock.
The Brikama-based coach, who also served in the police force, was
buried yesterday evening.
“It is sad. Sarr is a very good, hardworking fellow who has sacrificed
all his live for the development of our football. So it’s a big lost
but we have to accept it,” Bakary B. Baldeh, Gambia Football
Federation’s media liaison/marketing officer, told Foroyaa Sport, in
a tribute to the departed soul.
Lamin Sarr, described as a likable and open person, was a licensed
Caf coaching instructor, Gambia senior team assistant gaffer under
Paul Put, U-20 coach and recently before his demise a member of Bakau
United’s technical bench.
Sarr did his coaching studies in Hungary, Bupdapest.
We at Foroyaa Sport say Rest In perfect Peace.]]>
