It is reported that the oil explorer FAR Ltd is experiencing crisis in the trading of its shares due to the failure to discover the estimated barrels of oil from the Bambo well of the Gambia. It is indicated that the shares fell by 49 percent as a result of declaring that no live oil columns are present after drilling to a depth of more than three kilometres.
It is therefore a matter of concern in The Gambia that the people have a strong opinion that The Gambia is an oil rich country but no information is forthcoming to confirm this belief. There is need for greater transparency in the pursuit of our oil bid.
