The Gambia Armed Forces have urged the general public to stay calm as they will commence training on blank ammunition and movement of troops.
The field training exercise will start on Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th November 2020.
“GAF informs the general public that it will conduct a field training exercise in the general area of Yundum, Banjulinding, Sinchu Alagie, old Yundum and Yarambamba daily at 0600 hours,” Major Lamin K. Sanyang, GAF spokesperson informs the public.
GAF advised inhabitants of the aforesaid areas to continue with their daily activities and not to be panicked as it is a routine exercise.
Blank ammunition is a type of firearm cartridge that contains no bullet or shot and paper or plastic wadding are used to seal the propellant into the casing.
