By Mustapha Jallow This reporter was at the Supreme Court building when contest of legal authority between two members of different security outfits had just taken place. A Police Intervention Unit (PIU) personnel, who is also a Police Orderly 3035 posted at the High court to guard Justice Emmanuel Amadi, a Nigerian national and a Judge at the Special Criminal Court (SCC) under the High Court in Banjul and a senior Intelligence officer were involved in a fracas as they drove to work on Monday at the High Court in Banjul, 9 June, 2014. The Intelligence officer is reported to have come with other colleagues at the High Court premises and had exchanges with the Orderly. According to information, the High Court premise was later filled to capacity with people trying to calm the situation between them. When contacted, Mr. Adama Keita, the police orderly attached to the High court in Banjul, confirmed that he has given statement at the Police and declined to divulge the merit of the case. This reporter tried to contact the senior intelligence officer to get his version of a story that had attracted the interest of many people at the court, but to no avail. When contacted, the Police PRO ASP David Kujabi said on Sunday 15th and Wednesday 18th June that he is not aware of the incident but would find out. ]]>
