By Mustapha Jallow A former Human Resources (HR) Director at Gamcel Company, Mr Seedy Jaiteh, who was arrested at his home by men in plain clothes and later held at Mile 2 prison, is now in detention for 88 days without release, court appearance or access to family, according to a close family source. Mr. Jaiteh was arrested around mid-night by men in plain clothes at his residence in Manjai Kunda on 27 August 2014 and then whisked away in a black vehicle with tinted glasses and without a registration number. The family source told this medium that Mr. Jaiteh is held at Mile Two prison, but they do not know why he was arrested and is still detained. It was reported that following Mr. Jaiteh’s arrest, his family members initially tried to locate him at the NIA, police headquarters and NDEA at Holgam in Kanifing but were told that he was not held in any of these detention centres. He was later traced at the NIA headquarters in Banjul where the family was initially allowed to be taking food to him but which stopped after five days. The family source revealed that he was eventually taken to Mile 2 prison. “We have been allowed access to him for about five days when he was detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) head office in Banjul but could not see him since then as he was moved to Mile Two prisons,” he said. Mr. Jaiteh is said to be fifty two years old and has two wives and a child.]]>
