By Mustapha Jallow Mr Seedy Jaiteh, the former Human Resources (HR) Director of Gamcel, who was arrested by men in plain clothes and subsequently detained, has now spent 88 days in detention without trial and access to family members. A close family source told this medium that Mr. Jaiteh is held at Mile Two prison but they are denied access to him. Mr Jaiteh was picked up at his residence in Manjai Kunda around mid-night by men in plain clothes on 27 August 2014. The source noted that the men who arrested him came in a black vehicle with tinted glasses and without a registration number. “The following day after his arrest, we visited the NIA, police headquarters and NDEA at Holgam in Kanifing but were told that he was not in any of these detention centres,” said the family. He added that following his arrest Mr. Jaiteh was traced at the NIA headquarters in Banjul where the family was initially allowed to be taking food to him but that this was stopped on 2 September, 2014. The source said, “We have been allowed access to him for about five days when he was detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) head office in Banjul but could not see him since then as he was moved to the Mile Two prisons.” Mr. Jaiteh is fifty two years old and has two wives and a child.  ]]>
