By Sulayman Bah A new head has been elected to steer Gambia Swimming Association forKhadija Njie-Sanusi four years after an elective congress. From SBEC Swimming club, Mrs. Khadija Njie-Sanusi is elected unopposed following out-going president Pa Alieu Jallow’s decision to withdraw his candidature at a congress held at UTG law faculty.Mrs Njie-Sanusi, who was vice President in the former leadership, has Amadou Danso as 1st Vice President  and Bintou Touray Humma as second Vice President. Yorro Njie from Speedo Swimming Club was re-elected as Secretary General with Bakary Jammeh as assistant. Gibril Sanneh and David Jeng are the new Treasurer and assistant treasurer respectively. The technical director post remains with Arfang Y. Jobe and will be assisted by Habibulla Jeng while Muhammed Bittaye will serve as Auditor. Presenting his reports, Secretary General Yorro Njie described the past four years as challenging but successful. He highlighted the numerous achievements recorded by the Association which includes The Gambia’s participation to FINA World champions in Doha and the Dakar-Goree championship among other things. Secretary General Njie told the congress delegate that there is a need to review their constitution to align it with that of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and the Olympic charter statues. He added that it is now an international recommendation that every Sports Association should include a section in their constitution dealing with Anti-doping and Sports gambling. The congress finally adopted the motion to change the name of the Association from Gambia Swimming and Aquatic Sports Association (GSASA) to Gambia Swimming Association (GSA).]]>
