Fan invades pitch in Gunjur-Sukuta fierce semis clash

Gunjur sealed a place to the final in a heated derby affair in the FI Bank-sponsored Super Nawettan. The game fan-invades-pitch-in-gunjur-sukutawhich saw the Kombo South outfit reach their first zonal final did not wrap up without incidents.

The encounter was dogged by serious incidents one of which was stones being pelted in the game’s aftermath mercifully with zeros injuries reported but the episode of an apparent Gunjur fan invading the pitch when his side equalised stole the day.

The fan, clearly seen being escorted by security in collage of pictures obtained by Foroyaa Sport, was later let off without sustaining beatings.

A come-from-behind triggered it all for Gunjur who grabbed an equalizing goal via the spot five minutes from time.

At a full to the brim Serrekunda East mini-stadium, Sukuta raced into an early lead but a dramatic late rally paid off for Gunjur.

A scramble in the box saw Sukuta’s understudy captain handled in the box , a chance Gunjur buried for a final 1-1 score in regular time before later sealing passage to their first ever final on post-match penalties.

Elsewhere at SK West mini-stadium, Banjul shocked SK East –dubbed East BI – also on post-match kicks (5-4) to set up a rare final with Gunjur.
