By Kebba Jeffang A desperate family member (name withheld) informed Foroyaa yesterday evening 31st May, 2015 that her brother Sanna Fadera, a student of the University of The Gambia (UTG) and a member of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has disappeared from family sight since Wednesday, 27th May, 2015. She said she got information that the brother has been picked up and held at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) where he is being detained. “We are very much concerned about his current situation which is really traumatising the entire family because we do not know how he is being treated at the NIA. He is a military personnel attached to Bio Chemist Lab at the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) and is currently studying Biology and Chemistry at the University of the Gambia. We are also worried about the examination he was taking which is not completed,” she disclosed. She therefore called for his release to enable him complete his examinations. She said her brother has been detained for five days (yesterday) without the family being notified. This is beyond the 72 hours constitutional limit. Attempts to talk to the GAF Public Relation Officer (PRO) and the NIA were unsuccessful. Foroyaa will however continue its efforts to contact the authorities on the matter. ]]>
