Fatou Camara, who is also said to be the chairwoman of the United Democratic Party (UDP) in Jeshwang Constituency, is reported missing by the family since her arrest at Westfield on Thursday 14 April 2016.
When this reporter visited the family home in Ebo Town yesterday, one of the in-laws of Mrs. Camara said they were called by someone among the crowd on that day who informed them that her mother in law was arrested and taken away by personnel of the Police Intervention Unit (PIU).
“Immediately after hearing this information I and some of the children of Fatou Camara left for Westfield and from there we went to the PIU at Kanifing where we were told that she was not held there. We proceeded to the HOLGAM in Kanifing South and were also told by the people we met there that she was not with them,” she said.
The daughter in law explained that they have been attending all the court appearances of those arrested at Westfield but have not seen her among them.
“Fatou’s disappearance has caused stress and anguish in the family as her old mother fell ill last week as she still does not know the whereabouts of her daughter,” she revealed.
