An English Chief Chess arbiter David Sedgwick is due to touch down in Gambia.
Sedgwick together with the president of African Chess Associations
Luis Nkube from Zambia will be visiting the Gambia as guests of the
country’s Chess Federation.The are coming to grace the competitions being planned by the Gambia
Chess Federation in a bid to propagate the sport across the country.
‘This marks the start of many competitions to be organised by the
Gambia Chess Federation and that all chess clubs in the country are
urged to register with the Gambia Chess Federation with registration
fee pegged at D300. Deadline for registration is on or before 15th
February this year,’ Amadou Kandeh Chess Federation media liaison
officer said.
