Dispute resolution mechanisms are established to ensure that there is limited industrial action that disrupts the delivery of service. Strikes are usually matters of last resort when all dispute resolution mechanisms fail. As we go to press, we have been informed that the strike by MRCG employees has been called off for the time being after the intervention of the Minister of Health.

On the other hand, the dispute between the UTG staff association and the administration still stands without resolution.

Foroyaa will contact the ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology to find out whether there is any initiative at that level to address the concerns of the parties. The dispute should be addressed the soonest to enable the students to take their exams.
