Drivers plying between Sukuta and Serekunda have raised concern over the deplorable condition of the road.

The road is marked by potholes forcing drivers to run on the pavement. They complained that the condition of the road is not good for their vehicles.

‘This road is in a very bad condition. This is not good for our vehicles that are constantly bumping into the potholes, which might cause significant damage for us,’ Ousman Jallow, a driver said.

He further highlighted that it is becoming inconvenient to be driving on the road.

‘The road needs serious maintenance because it is in a poor condition,’ Alieu Jarju, another driver said.

He said that the road is poorly constructed, and is deteriorating due to heavy rain.

‘They have to construct the roads better to avoid this,’ he added.

Mama Samba, a passenger, said the poor condition of the road is making the road unsafe as drivers are running on the pavement where passengers and pedestrians are supposed to use.

‘This is not safe. So I will call on the competent authority to maintenance the road so that drivers can use it and leave the pavement for passengers and pedestrians to use,’ she said.
