Young Gambian striker Assan Ceesay is making the headlines in Switzerland’s top tier after scoring on his debut.
The 22-year-old came on as a 66th minute substitute replacing Israeli striker Mizrachi and twenty-nine minutes later got on the score. But the former Gamtel man’s goal could best be a mere consolation after his side had gone 2-0 down.
Neumayr broke the deadlock in the 31st minute before Lugano conceded an own goal. The Gambian came on to reduce the deficit but it was too late too little as Luzern went away with the spoils.
Ceesay joined the Swiss January this year but didn’t secure an international clearance until in July when he became an official Lugano player.
