The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of the Gambia has recently nabbed a Senegalese national with blocks of suspected cannabis and other prohibited drugs.
“50-year-old Muhammadou Mustapha Sowe, a Senegalese businessman was arrested at Jenoi checkpoint with ten blocks of suspected cannabis resin and four pellets of suspected cocaine which were concealed in a black plastic bag while the pellets were concealed in his pants and inside his private part,” said Ousman Saidyba, the Public Relations Officer of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
In a similar but different development, PRO Saidyba said a 24-year-old Prince Johnson a Sierra Leonean was arrested at Westfield by Kanifing DLEAG with one sachet of suspected kush which was concealed in a used tissue paper packet.
He asaid a 15-year-old alleged child offender and a resident of Jinack an apprentice by profession was arrested by Barra DLEAG station with three big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa which were concealed in cement papers and placed inside a multicoloured nylon bag respectively.
“58-year-old Lamin Conteh, a resident of Sukuta and a businessman by profession was arrested by Serrekunda DLEAG station with twenty-three wraps of suspected kush which is concealed in transparent medicine sachet,” he said.
He said 51-year-old Martia Micheal Mendy and 60-year-old Mbye Janha both residents of Bakoteh and Kololi respectively were arrested by CTI DLEAG station with twelve stones and twenty-nine pieces of suspected cocaine and nine stones of suspected cannabis resin concealed in foil paper and placed inside blue and yellow coloured transparent nylon bag respectively.
Saidyba said 24-year-old Rotimi Uthman a Nigerian residing at Manjai was arrested by Kerewan DLEAG station at the Suwareh-Kunda checkpoint with nine wraps of crystal Methamphetamine which is concealed in a transparent nylon bag.
“19-year-old Tala Njie a Senegalese was arrested by Kerewan DLEAG station at Suwareh-kunda checkpoint with sixty pills of ecstasy which is concealed in cement paper, transparent nylon bag, and silo-taped under a bicycle,” he said.
He said a 49-year-old Lamin Jadama, a resident of Old Jeshwang and a security by profession was arrested by Banjul DLEAG station at the beach with seven parcels of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white papers.
He said all the suspects were taken into custody while further investigations into their respective matters continued.
