Agents of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency-The Gambia (DLEAG) have apprehended eleven suspects involved in ten illicit drugs cases, within the last six days. All the suspects are said to be adult male Gambians.
Ousman Saidyba, the Spokesperson of the DrugAgency, said the cumulative total quantity of the drugs seized for the reporting period equates to 37 bundles, 4 parcels and 34 wraps of cannabis Sativa, 3 stones and 60 pieces of resin (hashish) and 77 wraps of ‘Kush’.
PRO Saidyba said the classes of prohibited drugs seized for the reporting period are cannabis ‘sativa’, cannabis resin (hashish) and ‘kush’.
“The nationalities of the accused persons are Gambians and all of them are males with occupations ranging from welding, artistry, electrician, fisherman, plumbing, business, labour, driving and barbing,” he stated, adding that the arrested persons are between the ages of 18 and 30.
