Banjul Sports Committee MSTE sponsored League Cup was decided on penalties.
Dingareh FC secured the title after an overwhelming defeat of Digi Dambi at the
Banjul mini-stadium.
This year’s Cup competition witnessed a massive twist with previous
winners Makaan Bi quickly jettisoned off the road.Elsewhere in Serrekunda West over the weekend, Kanifing Layout-based
Anfield Football Club scooped the Momodou Inna Sey Memorial Knockout
Cup after beating Happapa on a goal to nothing.
In Manjai, Koloi Central won the Manjai league cup over the weekend
beating Selection FC on penalties to pocket D50, 000 as prize.
Selection contended with D35, 000 as consolation.
Meanwhile in Brikama Sky Power face off Puntalana in the Knockout Cup
final after easing over Soccer Stars in the semi-finals.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for Skypower when they got ditched out
of the League competition. That lost placed them on the brink of
finishing off the season trophyless.
However, determined not to throw the towel too soon, the club bounced
back to amend their blip beating Soccer Stars by two unanswered goal
in the Knockout race.
In what was a rescheduled contest -the first meeting decimated by
torrential rain – Skypower marched on with considerable ease to set up
a pulsating final date with Puntalana.
Puntalana booked their ticket to the finals following post-match
penalties.
