By Mustapha Jallow It’s nearly two (2) weeks since the detention without trial of officials under the Ministry of Agriculture who were all arrested and kept behind bars at the Fraud Squad of the Police headquarters in Banjul on July, 7th 2014, following their dismissal and termination of their services at the Agriculture Ministry. Reports close to the Police headquarters reveal that the 10 top officials are still under custody without any trial or charge, exceeding the constitutional detention limit of 72hrs. Those reportedly under detention without charge or court appearance are: Foday Jadama, Regional Director, Kutubo Sanyang, Project Coordinator Cowpea, Mr Kebba Drammeh, Senior Agricultural Officer at the Wellingara Model Centre, Musa Dampha, Communications Education Extention Services, Fafanding Fatajo, the Project Coordinator of FASDEP, Lamin Fatajo, the Project Coordinator of Rural Finance, Dr. Saikou E. Sanyang, the Regional Director of Agriculture NBR, Dr. Sanyang, the Regional Director of Agriculture CRR and Mr. Cherno Mbemba Dahaba. ]]>
