The disappearance of Mr. Dembo S. Darboe’ commonly called ‘Touray Darboe’ has now clocked exactly 30 days today after he was allegedly picked up at his residence in Kafuta by two operatives of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) on the 16 April.
Yesterday, Musa Bala Darboe, his younger brother, informed this medium that the elder brother has still not returned home and he has not been seen or heard from since then. He said they have been to several places in search of him, including the NIA headquarters in Banjul, HOLGAM and Police Intervention Unit (PIU) headquarters in Kanifing as well as other police stations, but to no avail.
Mr. Darboe expressed how deeply worried their family is regarding the state of health of their brother who has a psychiatric problem and which could be aggravated if he fails to take his regular medication.
He urges the captors of his mentally disturbed elder brother to release him immediately as he is not known to have committed any crime.
“On behalf of our aging mother, the wife, and the entire family, I am appealing to those keeping my brother to allow conscience to dictate them and to release him because of his state of mental ill health,” he concluded.
