Demba Savage has brought his love affair with HJK to an end after four years at the Finnish club.Demba Savage 4

The forward quits the capital club to join Swedish giants Hacken a free agent after the lapse of his contract signed in 2011.

The 27-year-old transferred to HJK from fellow Viekkausliiga’s Honka Espoo, a side he helped to scoop the Finnish Premier League title on back-to-back basis and reach to the Uefa Champions League qualifiers and the Europa group stage.

The former Gambia Ports Authority ace has been courting interests from a number of suitors including clubs from Denmark but found temptation to move to BK Hacken too strong to turn down.

The Scorpion’s contract duration is believed to be a three-year deal. Savage is expected to bolster Hacken’s forward rank after scoring fifty-six goals and assists for HJK.

Demba, tipped to make his debut for his new club soon, departure from Helsinki leaves the Finnish outfit with only two Gambians in their pay books: Ousman Jallow and Macoumba Kandji.

Dubbed Dea, a highly revered Demba is HJK’s most successful Gambian import in the club’s history.
