Debate on tactics in the Diaspora on how to change Gambia should begin

68

The sentencing of prominent Gambians like Cherno Njie, Papa Faal, Banka Manneh and Alagie Saidy Barrow to prison terms combined with parole in the United States for being involved in the 30 December 2014 armed insurrection at the state house in the Gambia is instructive.

The lives lost in the exercise and the pain of having to become a prisoner in a foreign land should compel every Gambian to a fresh look on how to effect change in the Gambia.

The Gambia belongs to all of us and no one has monopoly of sound ideas.

As a people, we have the sovereign right to determine our own destiny.

Each has a tactic in place. What we need is constructive dialogue on the way forward, irrespective of party affiliation or otherwise. If our collective intelligence is relied on, we will find a genuine way forward that would ensure liberty in prosperity.
