Magistrate Dawda Jallow of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court, who is presiding 
over the trial of Mambanyick Njie, erstwhile Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports, has scheduled to deliver judgment on the case 1 December 2014.
The former PS is accused of giving false information to the Office of the President that the former Gambia Football Association executives were engaged in financial malpractices and never gave a thorough account of the imprests given to them for international matches and therefore sought approval to dissolve the said GFA executive, an information he knew to be false or does not believe to be true.
Mr Njie however denied any wrong doing.
The prosecution called more than five witnesses and tendered a host of exhibits, including Audit Reports from Augustus Prom Auditing Firm. Upon the closure of their case, the accused opted to open his defence and denied all the allegations leveled against him.
During his defence, he refuted the allegations contained in exhibit B (Police Investigations Report) that the letter he wrote to the head of state was based on personal motives.
Senior counsel Antouman Gaye is appearing for the accused while police prosecutor, Alieu Faye, represents the IGP.
