Some lawyers are reported to be serving as counsels at the court martial. Courts are open to the public to ensure accountability to the public. It is a fundamental principle of jurisprudence that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. It is the media which enables the public to know whether accused persons are given a fair hearing before an independent and impartial tribunal. The public is deeply interested in knowing who is being tried, why they are being tried, where they are being tried, by whom and whether they have defence counsels. We will contact the authorities to find out what is responsible for the secrecy and what their decision is on the issue of media coverage of the proceedings.]]>
