The heap of garbage near Ahmaddiya Hospital in Tallinding that blocked access to the Westfield/Brikama highway, Tallinding junction waste dump collected

was collected on Wednesday, 16 September.
Speaking to Foroyaa, one Malamin Bojang who lives near the junction
said they are relieved by the removal of the waste because thestench was unbearable.
Residents and vendors in the area had earlier told Foroyaa that the
waste had been lying there since Saturday, the day of the ‘setsettal’ when
it was dumped there by people but was not collected by the council. There were calls for the
authorities to collect the waste.
Though the waste has been cleared residues could be seen at the spot.
Collection of waste or rather lack of it has now become a perennial
problem of councils.
