Crops, cattle and small ruminants are under threat. One would have expected that experts would have examined the number of months it takes for each crop sown to reach harvest stage and then determine whether crop failure could be declared and assistance sought for the victims. Should the experts predict late rains, they should be able to advise which crops should be grown and means sought to provide seeds to those who have lost their seeds to the dry spell. Foroyaa assumes that by now all the facts would have been collected to prepare a Cabinet Brief on the farming season and what government intends to do to address the situation.
