Pathologists are trained to conduct autopsy procedures in order to determine the cause of death. The law provides for coroner’s inquest to be done to establish the cause of death that may need special inquiry.
Kidney injuries that occur in a hospital setting leading to death should have motivated the authorities to involve fully qualified pathologists to inquire into the causes of the deaths and coroners’ inquests be done to investigate the causes of the deaths to enable them to pronounce a legal position on the causes of the deaths to prepare the ground for the filing of civil suits against any company responsible for the sale of any medical product resulting in kidney injuries.
The public is still demanding for the right action to be taken to address such a national tragedy. Compensation by government is not enough. Compensation implies that something wrong had happened.
