Gambia captain Abdou Jammeh has signed the dotted lines of a revised contract with Finnish giants RoPS.Abdou Jammeh 2

Duration of the improved contract is not revealed at the time of signing, but it is believed to be until end of the 2016 season with the option of an extension.

Jammeh played a major part in transforming RoPS from contended mid-table finishers to title-chasers becoming the head in the heart of the club’s defence.

Though the Sky Blues missed out in the race for the title to SJK finishing second in the 12-team league, the Gambian got rewarded for his stellar performances with a renewal.

The former Steve Biko ace shunned overtures from other clubs to add another year to his current deal that was due to end next month. The deal extension brings to an end speculation over the Scorpion’s future at RoPS.

With the acquisition of the 29-year-old’s services, the Finnish side have all but made clear of their intentions to revel in the Euorpa League qualifiers come next year.

Abdou played in all but two of his club’s league matches missing out only due to international commitment with the Gambia National team- a side he captains.
