Any party that suffers such a fate should file a case with the courts to get a declaration on the legality of cross carpeting. The multi -party system is essential for democracy, peace and stability.
The new Elections Act should empower the IEC to hold by elections wherever a National Assembly member cross carpet to another party. This should never be tolerated in a new Gambia.
