Bubacarr Sanneh has agreed to join former champions of Denmark FC Midtjylland, Foroyaa Sport can report.
The soon-to-be 23-year-old Saturday evening reached a deal with current Super League second place holders Midtjylland after talks began last week.
Sanneh has been on the radar of Brondby IF and FC Midtjylland but the latter managed to scoop the booty in a fee though undisclosed but believed to be worth little over €600,000.
The defender will join his new teammates at turn of the year for the second-half of the season.
Promise of regular playing time influenced the Gambian’s decision to move to the Herning and Iklast-based outfit, a thing Belgian side Club Brugge and Brondby couldn’t promise a word for.
Sanneh’s departure creates not only a void in Horsens but leaves a bitter taste to the mouth giving the Yellow and Blacks have to give up their most consistent star and fans player of the year two-time award winner.
There however will be money to compensate for such painful separation of player from a club he’d called home the last three years.
Midtjylland opted to splash the cash on Bubacarr because according to gaffer Jess Thorup, the Gambian better suits his 3-4-3 system.
The deal pours cold water on initial reports linking the centre-back with a move to Turkey, China and Germany.
Bubacarr has scored 14 goals in 89 appearances for AC Horsens.
