BUBA CEESAY FINALLY RELEASED AT NIA After 113 days in detention

Foroyaa has been informed by a close family source that Mr. Buba Ceesay, a Senior Customs Officer of the Gambia Revenue Buba CeesayAuthority (GRA), has been released by National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul on 14 December, 2015 in the evening.

Mr. Ceesay has spent 113 days in detention at NIA without charge, according to the family source.

“He is now freed at last to reunite with his family after he was detained for more than three months,” he said joyfully.

The source said the family is thankful to all those who in one way or the other have showed support and solidarity to them during that difficult time.

It was earlier reported that Mr Ceesay, attached to the Banjul International Airport, was arrested on 24 August, 2015, while he was on the verge of travelling out of the country on a mission. The media report indicated that he had received a phone call from someone who asked him to immediately report at the airport and that upon his arrival he was picked up and later taken to the NIA head office in Banjul where he was held until his release on Monday.
