BUBA CEESAY AT THE NIA FOR 73 DAYS

A resident at Tabokoto Mr Buba Ceesay, is still languishing at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul forBuba Ceesay 73 days now, a family source can reveal.

Mr Ceesay’s fundamental right has been violated by the authorities, which is stated in the Constitution in section 19 that a person shall not be detained for more than 72 hours without being taken to court or be released with or without condition.

According to a close family source they are wondering why their loved one is still held, adding that though they are not denied access, he is yet to return home since his arrest.

According to a source, the senior customs officer attached to Banjul International Airport had received a phone call from someone who asked him to report at the airport immediately; that upon his arrival he was picked up and later taken to the NIA head office in Banjul.

Reports indicated that he was arrested on Monday, 24 August, 2015 while on the verge of travelling out of the country for a mission.
